Google vs. NowRelevant.com Video
Here at the Internet Time Machine, we’d like to provide a little comparison between the Google search engine and NowRelevant.com. There are of course pros and cons to everything and here are just a few of the key points relating to the Google search engine, when compared to NowRelevant.com:
Any time a user searches for something on Google, the search results are broken down into a few main areas. The first area that we see when searching for a product such as the Iphone is the PPC ads that appear at the top of the search results page. The next area on the search results page is the corporate listings, which is then followed by shopping sites such as Amazon.com. After these few results are listed, Wikipedia is normally next in line, with news stories and articles about the keywords being searched following the news stories. Finally, all the way down near the bottom of the first page of the results in Google will be the organically ranked websites that are competing for competition in relation to the keywords that were searched.
However, when using NowRelevant.com to search for the same keywords (in this example, Iphone), things are going to appear quite differently. When searching for the Iphone using NowRelevant.com, the first thing you will notice is that you can use the slider to decide how many days of results you want to view. You can view information from just the past day, or you can view information that has been published online all the way up to 2 weeks. What this means to the users of NowRelevant.com is that you are only going to be receiving the most recent information, rather than seeing only the websites or information that has high PageRank or the pages which are considered the most important by Google.
Another thing you’re going to notice when you are using NowRelevant.com for search is that you are only going to be receiving information. NowRelevant.com is not going to be trying to sell you anything by giving you shopping results or corporate websites that are trying to sell something. You are going to be given information regarding the product, which makes searching for things online a breeze. NowRelevant.com does display video, banner and text PPC advertisements on the sidebar area of the page, but this also differs from the Google search. NowRelevant.com allows advertisers to post general text ads like those that are found on Google, but they can also use banner or video advertisements, which advertisers cannot do on Google.
No matter how many times we have run different keywords through Google search and NowRelevant.com search, we have been given the same results every single time. NowRelevant.com is providing information through blogs and other outlets, while Google search is marketing heavy with PPC text ads, shopping results, image results and corporate results. Google also keeps high ranking websites near the top, such as popular media outlets, where NowRelevant.com pulls sources and information without using a PR system, giving the users a better chance to see the information that they are looking for.
