In today’s post, we’re going to cover 5 often ignored Internet marketing mistakes. These are the types of mistakes that aren’t always recognized as mistakes but that can still hurt your online marketing efforts if you tend to make them. The more you know about what not to do before you get started, the better you can be at preventing things from happening that can set you back or affect your campaign negatively.
The first often ignored Internet marketing mistake has to do with website traffic. You know that in order to be successful, you need to get people to come to your website to view the products or services that you’re selling or promoting. It’s not wrong to concentrate on obtaining website traffic, but mistakes can happen when you concentrate too much on traffic and not enough time is spent focusing on your target audience. When it comes down to it, it doesn’t matter of 5 people or 5 million people visit your website every day; if the people visiting have no interest in your product or service, then sales aren’t going to occur. It’s important to remember that just because a website is receiving a lot of traffic, that doesn’t mean that sales are happening at a high rate of speed.
The second ignored Internet marketing mistake is believing that you’re going to be rich by tomorrow or a week from now or a month from now and so on. Even those who say that they know it can take awhile to achieve success online has that thought in the back of their minds wondering when they’re going to make it big. Even having this thought at all can hurt your efforts because whether you plan on it or not, you’re eventually going to become frustrated.
Third, are you head over heels in love with your current strategy, product, service or affiliate programs that you’re marketing? For example, a lot of people love Apple products, so much so that they refuse to market anything else. The problem? There are millions of people who love Apple and just about as many websites trying to promote their products. The niche is saturated and competitive to the point that it makes no sense to get into it. But if you’re infatuated with the program, product, service or method you’re using, it can stand in your way of achieving success. You really need to be able to look at what you’re doing objectively and without bias in order to make the best decisions.
Moving on to the fourth most often ignored Internet marketing mistake; you’re not providing customer service. Many times, people get into Internet marketing thinking that they can just hide behind a computer and not have to deal with anyone, but that’s far from the truth. You’re still running a business, you still have customers, you still have to network with other businesses and people are going to have questions, complaints and the need to know more information. A lack of customer service can earn a reputation in a not so positive light very quickly.
Finally, another ignored mistake is not realizing that you’re going to make mistakes. Unsuccessful tactics are going to creep up, you’re going to pick the wrong things to market sometimes and even if you do the right research, things can still go wrong. This is normal, but if you don’t realize that mistakes are common, then you’re going to be more apt to give up and never see the success that you wanted to achieve.

I have been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be a lot more useful than ever before.

So very true. In fact the first two reasons are why most of the bloggers fail in their attempts.
First they think of monetization before they consider traffic generation steps. And they expect results almost instantly.

Hello, Your site is good and you’ve got the attitude and the right style. This is why I disagree with the gurus when they say: “The Money Is In The List”. The money is not in the list because many lists drive very little traffic with zero conversion. Others drive a lot of traffic with very little conversions. The truth of the matter is that Traffic is King (i.e. traffic that easily converts to sales), and good quality leads drive quality traffic. This is why I provide, free of charge, 250Million Global Optin Leads to all my members, Plus 400,000 Fresh Optin Leads every month, all free. They also have access to powerful training materials on Email Advertising, Search Engine Optimization and Google Adword Advertising.

If you’re still on the fence: grab your favorite earphones, head down to a Best Buy and ask to plug them into a Zune then an iPod and see which one sounds better to you, and which interface makes you smile more. Then you’ll know which is right for you.
